Dame Vivienne Westwood's collections have gone through more transformations than Jocelyn Wildenstein. From bohemian to punk and even paganism, Westwood's pieces channel her ideas through fashion. Her latest offering, the Get a Life jewelry collection (produced in conjunction with the Palladium Alliance International), is intended to represent "hope, renewal and preservation." Launching during London Fashion Week with a kickoff soiree at the Wallace Collection (London's answer to the Frick), the pieces are made entirely from - you guessed it - palladium, a natural material. All of the pieces are inscribed with messages from Westwood's eco-conscious spring/summer 2010 collection, which was called Planet Gaia. What better way to wear your heart near your sleeve? The necklace will be available to order this spring at Vivienne Westwood Bagsboutiques in Los Angeles, or go to viviennewestwood.co.uk. Juergen Teller has not one but two exhibitions in the German capital these days. "Paradis," at Johann K?nig Galerie in Berlin Kreuzberg, shows large-format prints of a naked Charlotte Rampling with an equally naked Raquel Zimmermann, rambling about the Louvre and posing alongside the Mona Lisa and a marble Napoleon. Originally published in the French magazine Paradis in 2009 and shown at Lehmann Maupin in New York the same year, the images have lost none of their beauty or inherent shock factor. Teller's other, much smaller, show in Berlin is equally revealing. Located in an ingeniously designed third-floor space run by the Berlin-based 032c Magazine, the exhibition comprises new work that Teller has simply called "Men and Women." An image of a naked Vivienne Westwood Glasses Frame, broadly grinning and with her legs splayed, presides over the show like a regal cross between Annie Sprinkle and Marie Antoinette, while next to her the photographer William Eggleston, photographed at home in Memphis, and Teller's own 9-year-old son, Ed, photographed in the gym of a hotel in the Maldives, seem goofily adrift. "It's really a show about impotence," remarked a guest at the opening on Saturday night. "In the middle you have Vivienne, all powerful and sexual, and to the left and to the right you have an old man who can't really do it anymore, and a young man who can't do it yet." No word from Teller himself whether he subscribes to the same interpretation - when pressed for a quote during dinner after the opening, Teller simply pointed to a David Hamilton photograph on the wall and said, "I like those breasts." "Shoes must have very high heels and platforms to put women's beauty on a pedestal" - Vivienne Westwood Clothing-> With such a keen insight for footwear it seems only right that an international exhibition celebrating the shoe design work of the great dame of British fashion, Vivienne Westwood Charms, should be currently touring the country. Now at the Bowes Museum in Durham, until the 10th July this exhibition sees over 40 years of Westwood footwear design showcased for the first time in her career. In this exhibition over 200 pairs of shoes from the Westwood collection will be on display illustrating the general defiance that defines the Westwood ethos and the superb craftsmanship and attention to detail which can be seen in every unique pair. But the good news is that not all Westwood shoes are dangerous to walk in. One of our all time favourite styles here at Hervia, the Pirate Boots, first seen in 1981, continues to be in demand to the present day for its stylish looks and ease of wear. And Westwood's creativity continues in to this day with a stunning collaboration with environmental fashion brand Melissa, stepping again outside the norm to produce something stands in defiance of traditional thinking.
